Where Tended wins
- •Its plants never wilt or die. If you lose touch, the garden just waits for you. Ciao!’s animals change mood as time passes.
- •Private voice notes on each time you connect, and a timeline to look back on.
- •A cut-paper garden that follows the seasons, Home Screen widgets in three sizes, and "thinking of you" cards with a friend’s plant that you can send through Messages.
Where Ciao! wins
- •A rhythm for each friend, like every 3 weeks, and one deck on Sunday of the friends who are due. Swipe right when you’ve talked, left for not this week.
- •Written notes about each friend that come back when you get in touch, with WhatsApp, Message and Call buttons right there.
- •$9.99 once. Tended’s lifetime price is $29.99, and its other plan is $1.99 every week.
Which one should you actually get?
These two are close: a living thing for each friend, no account, and your data in your own iCloud. Get Tended if you love the paper garden, want voice notes, or never want to see anything look tired. Get Ciao! if you want a set rhythm per friend and one deck to clear on Sunday, for a third of Tended’s lifetime price.
