Where Bond wins
- •Overdue friends show soft dates like "Late March" instead of a count of days.
- •An Inspiration tab suggests one thing to do together each day, matched to the friend you have not seen in longest, and a network map shows who knows whom.
- •$8.99 once, a dollar less than Ciao!, and it comes in German as well as English.
Where Ciao! wins
- •Notes for each friend. Bond says in its listing that it does not care about last-contact notes. Ciao! shows yours when it is time to get in touch.
- •Three friends free for as long as you like. Bond gives you seven days and then goes read-only.
- •A backup in your own iCloud. Bond keeps everything on the phone only.
Which one should you actually get?
Bond and Ciao! start from the same place: private, no account, pay once, no guilt. Pick Bond if you want ideas for what to do together, or tiers for how close you are. Pick Ciao! if you want to remember what you talked about last time and you would like an iCloud backup. Ciao! also speaks Italian and Spanish, and Bond speaks German.
