Ciao! vs Keep My Friends
Keep My Friends, by Kevin Graham
A web app that let you pick how often to stay in touch with each person, then emailed you when it was time to reach out.
Never on the App Store; it ran in a browser. Its homepage says signups are closed (October 2026), and its blog stopped in April 2018.

K What Keep My Friends did well
- •You set a rhythm per person, like every week for Mom or every 6 months for an old colleague. That is the same idea Ciao! is built on.
- •The reminder email had links to contact the person, mark them as contacted, and leave a note for next time.
- •It was made with people abroad in mind: its page talks about calling home every week and friends in opposite time zones.
Where Ciao! wins
- •You can still get it. Keep My Friends no longer takes new users.
- •$9.99 once, where Keep My Friends was $7.89 every month.
- •No account and no email address. The reminder is one notification on Sunday, and your notes stay on your phone and in your own iCloud.
Which one should you actually get?
You can’t sign up for Keep My Friends any more, so for a new user the choice is already made. If its idea is what you liked, a rhythm for each person and a note for next time, Ciao! does that on the iPhone with one payment and no account. If you want reminders by email or an app in a browser, Ciao! does neither.
