Where Queue wins
- •The Mac app notices when you email, text, call or FaceTime someone and logs the catch-up for you. On iPhone, Ciao! asks you to log it yourself with a swipe.
- •Meetings in your Apple or Google Calendar count as catch-ups on their own. It can also bring people in from LinkedIn and tell you when someone starts a new job.
- •You choose when reminders come for each person or group: any day, weekdays only, or weekends only.
Where Ciao! wins
- •$9.99, once. Queue is $49.99 a year after its free week.
- •Three friends free for as long as you like, so you can try it slowly before you pay anything.
- •Queue sorts everyone into one list by who is next. Ciao! gives you a deck on Sunday, and an animal for each friend that shows how long it has been.
Which one should you actually get?
Queue is the better pick if you have a Mac and a mix of friends, family and old colleagues to keep up with. Its automatic logging and calendar link do work that Ciao! leaves to you. Ciao! is for friends you keep up with from your phone, paid for once, with a weekly deck in place of a long list.
