Where SoonCall wins
- •Five people free instead of three, and Smart Suggestions of who to call next are in the free tier.
- •When you call someone from the app and come back, it asks you to log the catch-up, so you rarely have to remember.
- •Pro has a time zone helper for planning calls, plus stats on your catch-up history and trends. Ciao! shows no stats at all.
Where Ciao! wins
- •$9.99, once. SoonCall Pro is $39.99 every year.
- •Birthdays and the home screen widget come with Ciao! from the start. In SoonCall both are part of Pro.
- •An animal for each friend that shows how long it has been, and one deck on Sunday with everyone who is due.
Which one should you actually get?
These two are close. Both were made by someone living away from home, and both come in English, Italian and Spanish. Pick SoonCall if you mostly keep in touch by phone call and you want stats and a time zone helper. Pick Ciao! if you would rather pay once, see each friend as an animal, and go through everyone who is due in one sitting on Sunday.
