Ciao! vs ContactHive
ContactHive (Notes & Contacts), by Obsidian IT Consulting
An iPhone and iPad contact manager that logged each interaction with notes, tags and follow-up reminders, kept on the device.
Removed from the App Store: its store page returns an error, though its website is still up (October 2026). It was iPhone and iPad only.

C What ContactHive did well
- •Every call or meeting got its own entry with notes, so you had a full history for each person.
- •It kept your data on the device, with no cloud at all.
- •It worked with the contacts already on your iPhone, and let you sort people with tags.
Where Ciao! wins
- •Ciao! is in the App Store today.
- •Your friends are backed up to your own iCloud. With a device-only app, a lost phone means lost notes.
- •It is built for friends: a rhythm for each one, a deck on Sunday, and an animal that shows how long it has been.
Which one should you actually get?
ContactHive can no longer be downloaded. If you used it for friends and family, Ciao! keeps the same private approach and adds an iCloud backup. If you used it for work contacts, Contacts Journal CRM, with its logs and tags, is the closer match.
